One of Tears of the Kingdom’s Most Adorable Updates: Link’s Cooking Tunes

Source: IGN.com’s RSS Feed

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been out in the wild for a weekend now, and fans are spotting all kinds of fun easter eggs and tidbits all over the place. One of our favorites? Link’s cooking animations have gotten the smallest, sweetest musical upgrade. Yes, Link sings now!

In Breath of the Wild, Link’s cooking animation was pretty wholesome on its own. He would toss the ingredients into a pot, hum a few abstract notes cheerfully as they stewed, and then express delight when the dish was done (assuming it wasn’t…dubious). But in Tears of the Kingdom, his cooking is even more adorable, because Link actually sings multiple recognizable songs from his own games while food is cooking.

Tears of the Kingdom Carries on a Breath of the Wild Tribute to Satoru Iwata

Source: IGN.com’s RSS Feed

In Breath of the Wild, which released almost two years after the death of late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, Nintendo seemingly included a tribute to his memory in the form of Satori Mountain and its resident Lord of the Mountain. And now, in the sequel Tears of the Kingdom, that tribute has been further expanded upon with one of the game’s most mystical hidden encounters.

On Satori Mountain in Breath of the Wild, players who visited on certain nights could see a beautiful spectral creature called the Lord of the Mountain and witness a number of Blupees gathering.

VR Skater Preview: Skate Like a Pro on PSVR2 Without the Pain of Falling

Source: IGN.com’s RSS Feed

As someone who has spent over ⅔ of his life riding a skateboard, I’ll be the first to say that skating is not an easy skill. Between falling, destroying your shoes on grip tape, and spending weeks trying to land that first kickflip, it’s as grueling and time-consuming as it is rewarding and fun. VR Skater is no different in that regard. While it’s obvious that a VR skateboard will never replace the real thing, I was still skeptical about how “real” it would feel coasting over digital concrete while having a bulky PSVR2 headset strapped to my face. But after landing that first kickflip over a set of tires, all my doubts were gone, and I found myself looking forward to mastering my next trick.

Best Nintendo Switch Deals in May 2023

Source: IGN.com’s RSS Feed

The Nintendo Switch is a runaway success, now sitting at number three in the list of all-time best-selling consoles. Some of the most popular games of the last five years have exclusive homes on the Switch, and unlike Nintendo consoles of yore, first-party Nintendo Switch game deals are fairly commonplace.

Common Nintendo Switch Game Deals

TL;DR: Indie and first-party games

By far the most common Nintendo Switch deals we see are on smaller games. Games like Harvestella, for example, are perpetually on sale, but there are lots of times to save on some of the best indies on Nintendo Switch.

Xbox’s May Game Pass offerings are a bit dull outside of Chicory

Source: Destructoid’s RSS Feed

Did Redfall add any value for you?

On any given month when there’s a massive first-party value offer for a service like Xbox Game Pass, you can bet on the rest of the month quaking in fear of the might of the publisher that holds all the power. But in the case of Redfall (particularly when it comes to public perception), this might have been a not-great month to flex.

Source: IGN.com’s RSS Feed

It’s safe to say Night Dive Studios’ remake of System Shock is one of the most hotly anticipated releases of 2023, and that release is just around the corner. But System Shock fans have another project to look forward to in early 2024 – a hardcover art book called The Art of System Shock.
