It’s in the title, after all

The Legend of Zelda seems like one of the most puzzling names for a video game series, if only for the fact you never play as Zelda in any of the mainline games. Instead, you play as Link, leaving the titular character for the franchise in more of a supporting role and even the frustrating damsel in distress at times.

Arc System Works has released a rough rollout plan for a series of long-time-coming fixes for its flagship fighter, Guilty Gear Strive — These fixes are chiefly directed toward to problems that players have been facing online, and are particularly aimed at reducing the grief caused by lobby-breaking trolls.

‘New Title X’ should be the final name, honestly

Publisher Koei Tecmo has announced that it is partnering with Japanese developer Akatsuki Games to produce a brand new, currently unannounced new game for Gen 9 platforms. As reported by Gematsu, this collaboration was announced in Akatsuki’s recently published financial report.

We’re now only a few short weeks away from the highly anticipated launch of Street Fighter 6, but Capcom isn’t done with the marketing machine just yet — Tomorrow, two of the scrapper sequels top-tier developers will host a special live stream in order to field questions from budding World Warriors.

And pretty much just Tears of the Kingdom

Nintendo doesn’t have any other marquee games to pump out this week: it’s all Zelda all the time for the foreseeable future.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is out on May 12, and it’s fantastic. I think a lot of folks are going to be surprised by how much it innovates on the already-successful Breath of the Wild formula, and there’s a lot of spoiler-heavy stuff to shield yourself from.
