Go Nagai’s legendary series hits the shmup scene

Something a bit special from the retro funsters of Hamster this week, as Banpresto’s coin-op adaptation of the much-loved manga/anime series Mazinger Z has joined the Arcade Archives, and is now available to download on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

I’m Link, and this is the Korok Launch

It’s launch day for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Countless players are booting the game up for the first time, and quickly gaining Link’s newfound ability to build contraptions and vehicles. And it seems like everyone’s subjecting the same poor Korok to their wacky Zelda experiments.

A Link to the Zelda series

Throughout all of the mainline Zelda games, Link has been the star, taking the fight to Ganon (or other villains) and saving the world in the process. But Link’s heroics haven’t always been limited exclusively to The Legend of Zelda series.

No, Link has been on many adventures outside the lands of Hyrule too, into entirely different game worlds.

Fortnite is a bustling home for creativity after the Creative 2.0 tools were released, and a Kingdom Hearts fan has actually recreated Destiny Islands in the game for others to enjoy. In a video posted by HiddenxRoxas on Twitter Monday, the Destiny Islands area was showcased within Fortnite, and the video has been watched by over 60,000 people.

The next step into the Thirteenth nears

The next big update for Final Fantasy XIV post-Endwalker looms. Patch 6.4 for Final Fantasy XIV will arrive later this month on May 23, 2023.

Here comes some fleshy storytelling and music

Shiro Unlimited has announced that Atelier QDB developed horror narrative game, Decarnation, is launching on May 31, 2023. Beyond that, they have announced that legendary composer, Akira Yamaoka, is contributing 10 pieces to the soundtrack.

Described as a story-rich horror adventure game, Decarnation stars a cabaret dancer, Gloria. Her whole life is taking a dive when a mysterious benefactor taps her for an “artistic endeavor.

We might need a new Pokedex just for Pokeglitches

The Pokemon series has endured for so long that those of us who witnessed its beginning can already tell our tales to the younger trainers like we were community elders. Don’t blame us, though, as the world of Pokemon really did use to host some of the weirdest glitches in the history of gaming.

Chesnaught a problem

Look, I’ll level with y’all. Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom just came out. There’s a beta for Diablo IV this weekend. The amount of time and energy I have to write some colorful words about 7-Star Tera Raid events is as low as it will ever be. Thankfully, this latest Chesnaught Tera Raid event in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet couldn’t be more straightforward.
