Creative Bytes Studios has announced their next game, Return to Grace, a sci-fi adventure about restoring an AI. It’s set to release on May 30, 2023.

What’s that? You don’t want to save an AI because they might steal someone’s job? Understandable. But what if it’s a ‘60s interpretation of an AI? If that’s more your speed, then step into the boots of Adamari “Adie” Ito, and get ready for a retro-futuristic adventure.

One billion Switch games sold to date

Nintendo has revealed the newest sales figures regarding its Nintendo Switch platform, which sees the console pass the 125 million unit mark, as well as hitting an all-time record in regards to software sales.

According to the data, 3.07 million Nintendo Switch consoles were sold during the first quarter of 2023, (ending March 31), which pushes total unit sales to 125.62 million.

The streets will get some fights soon

Capcom will be hosting an open beta for Street Fighter 6 ahead of its launch. The open beta will run from May 19 through May 21, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

To register and take part in the open beta, you’ll need to register a Capcom ID and link your platform. You’ll want to register early, because chances are high that the initial rush may be a lot.

Where to go before a new Hyrule drops

It is the week of a new Zelda game, and you might be getting ready by revisiting its predecessor. I’m not surprised to see that a few people I know have been booting Breath of the Wild back up, just in time for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

In fact, I’ve been doing the same. I was looking for a refresher, as well as an excuse to finally try the Champion’s Ballad DLC.

The world’s most dangerous carriage ride sets off

A new tour of the Darkest Dungeon around is officially setting off today. Red Hook Studios’ Darkest Dungeon II officially launches into 1.0 today, May 8, and heads to Steam.

The follow-up to 2016’s Darkest Dungeon, this new entry makes a number of changes to the formula. Four heroes set off on a whirlwind stagecoach ride, hurtling into a decrepit and dangerous world to hold back the apocalypse.

I don’t know much about horses. I know that they have four legs and taste amazing. That’s about it. I never had a horse-obsessed phase when I was growing up. That’s probably because I played video games, where they’re mainly depicted as cars that run on oats.

I also never had an interest in Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, probably also because of video games.

Some layoffs expected from consolidation

Publisher holding company Plaion, (formerly known as Koch Media), is planning to consolidate several labels under one banner — Publishers Deep Silver, Ravenscourt, and Prime Matter are all to merge under the Plaion label.

Announced during a recent media presentation, Plaion notes that it hopes to see its companies produce fewer titles with higher overall quality.

In an interesting, but somewhat unnerving, piece of merchandising, Konami has announced that it will be teaming with make-up, erm, maker Vampyre Cosmetics in order to produce a line of cosmetic products based upon the Drop Dead Gorgeous world of *checks notes* Silent Hill.

As we approach the launch of yet another highly anticipated game from The Legend of Zelda franchise, it’s hard not to look back at all the games that have come before. Especially if you’ve been there since the very beginning with that golden NES cartridge.
