There’s always something new to find in Hyrule

It has been, at this point, six years since the 2017 release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The Switch launch title, and Nintendo’s swan song on the Wii U, made an indelible mark on the industry with its approach to the open-world space.

The meteor has been delayed

Prehistoric narrative adventure Goodbye Volcano High is shifting dates. Publisher and developer KO_OP announced that Goodbye Volcano High has been delayed to an August 29, 2023 release date.

Originally scheduled for June, this is only a delay of a couple months for the narrative title. In a post from KO_OP, the studio says the decision was made after taking a look at its production schedule.

Two models are on the way

Asus has officially unveiled the arrival windows for its new handheld gaming PC, the ROG Ally. This looks to bring some more competition to the market, with one model arriving in June and another sometime in Q3.

The first-available ROG Ally is the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme model, which boasts up to 8.6 teraflops and a 512 GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD, as well as a 7-inch 1080p, 120 Hz FHD screen.

Nintendo doesn’t have any other marquee games to pump out this week: it’s all Zelda all the time for the foreseeable future.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is out on May 12, and it’s fantastic. I think a lot of folks are going to be surprised by how much it innovates on the already-successful Breath of the Wild formula, and there’s a lot of spoiler-heavy stuff to shield yourself from.
